Secretary of Education (CS) Ogamba has announced major changes to the university admissions of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
The minimum grade for university courses is B- (minus grade). Ogamba said the move aims to improve the
quality of education while addressing the need for greater capacity in Kenya’s education system.
The importance of management education
in a competitive market. CS Ogamba has
benefited from this,” he said.
The impact of the decision has sparked
protests, with some education experts and
parents concerned that the move would be lauded, saying it would encourage students to aim higher and improve overall education, but others said higher scores would exclude students with Bs from education and training programmes.
